Samsung Doles Out USB 3.0 Hard Drives in Pepped Up Colors

Samsung’s entry into USB 3.0 hard drive industry has been stable and impressive. For CES 2011, it thought of sweetening the deal further with a vibrant paint-job and some jaw-dropping features. These external hard drives feature a data transfer rate of as much as 5 gigabits per second which equals to 4 minutes of streaming time for 25GB HD movie. Samsung has been speeding up in the race of USB 3.0 capable devices so consumers can soon lay hands on high-speed portable hard disk drives this year. There will be three versions here. First the basic external HDD, then the premium flavor embodying enhanced backup and security software and lastly, the desktop version which 2 TB of storage space. It’s due for commercial release in the month of April through leading US retailers. No word on pricing yet.
