Samsung has unveiled a modest line up of PMPs that come with touchscreen capabilities and an affordable price tag. Hailed as YP-R2 PMP, this one will run the maker’s proprietary OS and have a bunch of industry standard features. Specs include a 3-inch WQVGA LCD, 4 or 8GB of storage, SoundAlive, FM Radio, voice recorder, mic and support for variety of audio and video formats like mp3HD too.
The outer chassis tells us its design has nuances from the Galaxy S II smartphone- like the textured battery cover design. Another highlighting feature is the Music Square which can sort and organize music tracks according to its user’s preferences. It has an impressive battery life of 40 hours for music and 4 hours for video, and measures about 50.9×90.9×8.6mm. This will first touch the Russian shelves and then move elsewhere. No word on pricing though.
