There are those times when the blurting out the phrase ‘Are you f%#@&in kidding me?’ is so justified that even my editor couldn’t curb my poking fun at the US Tax laws. This is one of those times of course and the reason for my outburst was because I read that according to some insane tax law, buying a Porsche you can get a Federal tax credit. That’s just ridonculous! But, and there is a but, I found out seconds later, the reason for this is because the only Porsche that comes with this benefit is The 2011 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid, Porsche’s first production hybrid. This baby is totally eligible for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit as a Qualified Hybrid Motor Vehicle. If you happen to buy one before the tax year is up you can avail of an Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit of $1,800 on your 2010 taxes. The base price before the federal tax credit is $67,700 (excluding destination). Wow! Don’t you just love a country that allows you to save money by spending it on luxury brands.
