When the MIT-media lab launched the Siftables, it seemed simple enough: a collection of small, self-contained input / display devices wirelessly link together to form an independent mini-network, or a control system for a PC. Now, adding to it a definite cute factor, MIT will launch the Sifteo Cubits in the first quarter of next year. These adorable 1.5-inch LCD-equipped blocks, which can sense motion and proximity while communicating with each other wirelessly, are going to be mostly used for games initially, though the possibilities seem endless — and endlessly quirky.
At $149 it might be a hard sell for most, but these adorable cubits are definitely set to revolutionise the future of play!
