Solar-cooling for trucks saves a ton

04.jpgWe are seeing some really cool solar-powered cooling solutions lately. Spearheading this is the move by Mitsubishi Chemical Corp and Nippon Fruehauf Corp who have joined hands to roll out a cooling solutions for trucks called i-Cool Solar. It makes use of photovoltaic batteries in trucks to provide air-conditioning. The solar energy for air-conditioning is absorbed and used to charge the batteries when the truck is in an idle state.

The solar panels are mounted on the top of the trucks to ensure that the battery is always fully charged. So now you’ve got a green solution and a cheaper one too. It will be extensively implemented from 2012 onwards.
