I root for the ‘green’ companies and all their devices that are produced keeping the environment in mind. Sony Ericsson’s Greenheart range of devices has recently had an addition in more business like model called the Aspen. It’s a very cool, squared off device that looks like it’s designed for the professional, that doesn’t mean I don’t want one. The Aspen is also one of the first handsets to run on the latest version of the Windows Mobile OS, version 6.5.3 and incidentally it’s a touchscreen (2.4 inch QVGA TFT) handset even though most devices with QWERTY keypads aren’t.
With the new version of the WinMo OS, the Start Menu icons appear at the bottom instead of the top. This gives the device a ‘closer to PC’ like feel. It’s also fully loaded with connectivity and includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and a power saving mode called Eco Mode. There’s no price yet.
