With Easter around the corner the La Maison Du Chocolat shop in London has an easter egg which is protected by two guards. The “Diamond Stella Egg” which stands 65cms (25in) tall is made of layers of dark chocolate and is stuffed with peach and apricot chocolates and pralines in the shape of fish. The outside is studded with 100 half carat diamonds costing $ 100,000. The big question will be, who is gonna buy the $ 100k Easter Egg. La Maison du Chocolat’s spokesman maintained: “We have got some interest. Nothing confirmed. We can’t say any more because of confidentiality.”

Neil Duttson, of Duttson Diamonds a dealer who supplied the gems quoted “It’s a gimmick, a PR stunt. And it probably won’t sell unless a rich Russian walks by with his trophy wife and decides he wants it … Chocolate and diamonds – what more could a woman want?”
