T-Mobile Germany will be selling the 8GB version of the iPhone-3G for as little as 1 Euro. So here is the catch – To get the wonder phone for such a flimsy amount you need to sign up for a 69 Euro monthly contract ($ 108). Apple is set to reach far more consumers with the launch of the 3G iPhone in 70 countries than it did with the original version a year ago, partly due to having abandoned its insistence that carriers give it a share of call revenue. Till a crack is developed for the new phone to bypass the activation process telecom companies will lure in more and more customers to expensive contracts.
The 16-gigabyte version will start at 19.95 euros ($ 31) with an all-inclusive data plan costing 89 euros per month, going up to 249.95 euros ($ 387) for a minimal 29 euros ($ 45)-per-month contract.
