Toshiba Matsushita is back to the showbiz this time with the world’s slimmest TFT LCD (that’s what they boast of!). The chic 0.99-mm slimster knocks ol’ 1.3-mm fatty from LG.Philips and manages to bag to limelight as it is only 0.99mm thick. Toshiba had flaunted its 0.99mm prototype in CEATEC Japan. The new slim TFT-LCD will have a QVGA resolution (240 x 320), projecting the image in a 2″ size screen. It will weigh barely 3.5 grams and folks at Toshiba plans to send their first slice to you in April 2007.

Toshiba is pretty intent on helping phone manufactures to curb the phone size by integrating slim TFT-LCD.
