Toshiba et20 projector with integrated DVD player

Toshiba has announced the et20 projector at Cebit 2006. The et20 is much more than a standard projector it includes an integrated DVD player, 5.1 channel surround sound, and a unique lens that can produce a six-foot image from three feet away, and a 4.5-foot image from just 27 inches away. It has an image sensor which Toshiba calls “Realta HQV” which tries to enhance DVD video so it looks like HD. It uses true 10-bit video processing, full four-field motion- adaptive video deinterlacing for both standard-definition and high-definition signals, pixel-by-pixel temporal-recursive noise reduction, automatic film-mode detection, and pixel-based detail enhancement.

The Toshiba et20 projector will have a retail price of EUR 1599 ($1900 US) and will be available in April 2006.
