Toshiba’s latest offering (the T5 and W5) includes EV-DO technology and is capable of providing the ultimate high speed connectivity provided with it. This technology by Sprint is especially made for high speeders. And the network of Sprint does scale many a land. With the quick 3G connectivity provided in the W5 and T5 versions of Toshiba laptops. The company is using the EV-DO tag to flash this one in the competitor’s eye (should work). With download speeds of 800kbps anyone can be tempted to get this one. A 12.1inch screen in both the W5 and the T5 is evidence of the Toshiba attitude of keeping it small but comfortable. We also have a capability of transferring data along the Rev.A network and where there is no Rev.A network the EV-DO Rev.0 can be used.
Though the T5 and the W5 share so many common features, they basically are not the same ‘kind of’ laptops. The T5 is a Tablet PC with a touchscreen where as the W5 is a regular laptop. No exact idea about the prices, but they are likely to start at around $2250 and will be made available next month.
