Toyota leverages Kinect advantage in Insect Car Prototype

It’s finally happening. Gesture recognition is some mean feat to achieve and with Kinect, we’ve topped a new high in mankind’s race to achieve ultimate comfort. So, the concept has been graciously picked up by Toyota who have come up with the Insect Car Prototype that accepts voice inputs to open the doors and get some basic services completed. The speakers on the hood and the voice sensors do the trick on the outside while Kinect’s gesture recognition detects the approaching owner and prepares the car with welcome messages and more.

So no you do not have to wrestle with the handle while handling huge shopping bags. The car’s obedient technology makes sure that it’s warm and welcoming towards you. Oh, and did I forget to mention that the concept also packs app-controlled actions? Simply overkill.
