Toyota’s hydrogen car overs 550 miles without refuelling

There are reasons to rejoice at the Japanese center of Toyota. Their research car just traveled from Osaka to Tokyo covering a distance 350 miles in go, without any re-fueling. The good news is that the car was hydrogen-powered, so no fossil fuel wasted here! The fuel-cell-driven Highlander SUV. The car could actually manage 550 miles on a single tank of hydrogen. Fuel efficiency was increased by a quarter, while the tank’s capacity doubled and the power-control system was also upgraded to perform better.


The air conditioning was on throughout the journey and the car averaged 50mph.
