LG Korea has announced the 17″ FLATRON L1780Qplus LCD monitor. It has a contrast ratio of 1600:1. LG has also integrated a special chip know as the “F-Engine” which incorporate DAFI Technology (Digital Adaptive Fine Image). DAFI maintains constant brightness with respect to the lighting conditions in the room. If it becomes dark then the brightness is automatically increased to match previous levels. The screen can rotate upto 180 degrees. When the monitor is turned off the screen can act as an mirror. It has a resolution of 1280 x 1024 and a response time of 8ms.

LG plans to launch a 19" version L1980Q Plus by January 2006.
