The point of view of an artist is usually limited to himself and isn’t all that easy to perceive by others. Photography artist Wayne Martin Belger created the Blood Camera that takes the concept of photography to an unscathed territory of sorts. His camera uses the blood of HIV+ patients. The camera uses the HIV+ blood to work as a red filter while Belger photographs HIV+ people. Part of the project called “Untouchable”, Belger is now planning to move his camera and the project to Africa, Sierra Leona, Liberia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Calcutta and 5 locations in Cambodia to capture portraits of people living with HIV.
Belger has so far, photographed 60 people all over the US and plans to take pictures in Asia and Africa for a better understanding of the contrasting lifestyles of patients suffering from HIV across the globe.
