And now for some good news regarding the Xbox One – in a recent report, spokespersons from Microsoft have informed some media that the new controller for the Xbox One would include new aspects that could make it compatible with your Windows PC. Amongst the 40 odd design changes that the controller will be undergoing since the last iteration i.e. the 360 version, it is possible for one to use the controller with a PC, but of course, new software has to be written and optimized for the PC.
Microsoft’s representatives also mentioned that existing PC games that were compatible with the 360’s controller would also work well with the Xbox One’s offering. They also stated – New wireless protocol, combined with the ability to work in ‘wired’ mode, and the addition of features like Impulse triggers, means that new software has to be written and optimized for the PC according to ne report. According to Marc Whitten, Xbox’s chief product officer, the Xbox One will not support cross-platform voice chat with the Xbox 360. He also added that system will still function if the Kinect isn’t plugged in.
