ZELTIQ’s CoolSculpting Machine May be the Answer to American Obesity

The CoolSculpting system from ZELTIQ has sent shivers down my spine. Not just a fad, this fat freezing machine has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to help the fattest nation in the world with its obesity problems. CoolSculpting promises to help you move those love handles and shift that stubborn paunch. It works by literally freezing the fat cells off your body. An applicator cup with a gentle vacuum uses apparently gentle pressure to draw the fatty tissues in between cooling panels, where it is chilled off your body. Sounds painless, doesn’t it? The skin cells remain undamaged, while the frostbitten fatty tissues are naturally removed as waste. Simple. ZELTIQ promise that patients will see a difference in a minimum of two months. They cannot promise that it will stay off, however – that all depends on how many hamburgers you stuff down your face before and after each fat freezing session.

The CoolSculpting system from ZELTIQ may soon become available in surgeries. It will not be available for domestic use.
